Field Application Engineer

Rombit is looking for a Field Application Engineer, (FAE), to successfully implement Rombit Safety & Efficiency solutions for our US customers. A FAEs job provides the opportunity to travel, work with leading edge solutions & technology, and contribute to a safer work environment

Your responsibilities

You will be the go-to person for successful implementations of our Rombit Safety & Efficiency Solutions at our customers’ sites, which includes:

  • Understanding our technical portfolio, and be able to explain these to customers and prospects:
    • Use of Internet Of Things technologies (LTEm/NBIoT/IPv6);
    • Use of Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology and its opportunities and limitations;
    • Use of Cloud based analytics;
  • Supporting Pre-sales effort, by conducting site-assessments, requirement discussions, and translating the customer value proposition into a concrete technical implementation;
  • Establishing and develop trusted relationships with key customer engineering personnel and decision-makers;
  • Work with the sales teams to uncover new opportunities with focus on associative selling;
  • Driving implementations by being the main point of contact for technical implementation teams (at customer/partners) or by being hands-on yourself;
  • Provide technical training to customers and sales personnel on new products and technology;
  • Provide feedback to Marketing, Manufacturing and Engineering about the competitive environment, market acceptance of devices, and identification of opportunities and features for new products/product areas;

Our requirements

  • BS in Electronics, Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering;
  • Minimum 3+ years FAE, Design Engineering, Technical Pre-sales or Electronics Maintenance Technician experience;
  • Thorough understanding of IoT, RF and SaaS concepts;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; you have the ability to present moderate to highly technical materials to diverse audiences
  • Can-do attitude, problem solving and analytical;
  • Demonstrated ability to use SaaS platforms such as Google Workspace / CRM tools / …
  • Experience with industrial context, sites, vehicles, safety principles, etc;
  • This role requires 50% travel


  •  Power BI proficiency
  •  Experience with cellular carrier certifications
  •  Knowledge of AT Command functions
  •  Broad experience in IP protocols
  •  Understanding of Security methodologies for wired and wireless systems
  • A plus:
    • Proven Project Management experience 
    • Experience with Safety solutions
