Antwerp, 4 June 2019. Multraship is fully committed to increase its operational efficiency through innovation and further digitisation. The Dutch towage and salvage company is partnering with Rombit for the development of its innovative ‘Smart Planning Platform’.

The demand for towage services increases year after year. To guarantee its customers a quick and qualitative service in the future, Multraship is heavily digitising its operations.

Real-time planning

“We strive towards a dynamic planning that responds to the ever-changing circumstances of our operations. Therefore we invest in the development of a platform that combines multiple insights in real-time: estimated times of arrival, the availability of boatmen, fuel consumption and more. In the future, this platform will become an indispensable tool for the elaboration and management of our daily schedules”, says Pepijn Nuijten, Managing Director of Multraship. “Rombit possesses the required technical skills; together with their ‘port’ expertise it was the deciding factor for us to choose them as our partner.”

Innovative port service provider

Jorik Rombouts, CEO of Rombit provides more insight on the innovation project: “During the so-called ‘diagnostics’ track we look into the existing infrastructure and how we can achieve the biggest gains in efficiency. Even if most companies in this industry are confronted with similar challenges, each organisation is different. Today, we kick off the development of the platform, fully tuned to the needs of Multraship. We bring all data streams and data silos together in one user-friendly dashboard for the planners. In the second phase we apply machine learning to automatically receive intelligent recommendations to optimise the planning.”

“Multraship has already made a big impression with their ambitious product innovations. It is an honor to work with such an innovative player in the nautical industry.” concludes Rombouts.
