Business Development Manager

Your mission

Rombit is looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to join our team.

By (co-)creating innovative and sustainable digital products, you will help our clients to create value and make their organization future-proof.

As a BDM you will take the lead in expanding our client network. You understand the challenges our customers are facing. It is your goal to assist them in defining the right business cases to make their organizations future-proof. You’ll inspire them to innovate and stimulate them to implement smart & sustainable digital products. 

Your responsibilities

  • Leading the sales of our digital products business by developing a growth strategy to identify key industry players
  • Detection of business needs by examining business processes and by fingerpointing opportunities for Rombit products or custom solutions
  • Grow and build a strong client network in the Benelux region
  • Lead generation 
    • Attendance of industry specific events
    • Existing leads 
    • (If needed) cold calling 
    • In close collaboration with Marketing
  • Instinctively spot opportunities to grow our customer’s business
  • Manage the expectations of your prospects and existing customers
  • Write inspiring and to the point proposals.
  • Focus on closing the deal with respect for the customer’s timing and budget. 
  • Negotiation of full service cycle including SLA.
  • Close collaboration with our innovation/pre-sales team to validate the offer from a commercial and business point of view

Your skillset

  • Advanced negotiation and communication skills, focusing on customer interaction
  • Knowledge of sales cycles for IT projects/products
  • Based on a proven technical expertise, able to detect clients’ needs from a business point of view
  • Preferably sound technical background
  • Profound interest in industry specific challenges
  • Documenting sales related activities
  • Good planning skills and time management
  • Solid presentation skills
  • Thorough understanding of the business, combining knowledge of hardware, software and data
  • C-level interaction experience (C, C-1)

Furthermore, a suitable candidate should hold: 

  • 5+ years of experience in a sales position
  • Excellent knowledge of Dutch/English
  • Strong existing network in Belgian market or abroad is a benefit
