Antwerp 15 March 2017. Technology company Rombit confirms its growth aspirations with the acquisition of Sercotec, a digital security firm that has been active for 23 years. It is the first acquisition for the Antwerp-based scale-up.
Sercotec has installed security solutions in dozens of enterprises in the port of Antwerp. “Their digital products and services are instrumental in enhancing security and efficiency,” explains Jorik Rombouts, founder and CEO of Rombit. “Sercotec is an important link for us in the creation of a smart access platform, an integrated solution for access and user monitoring at industrial sites.”
“We are very pleased with this acquisition,” says Urbain Schelpe, founder and manager of Sercotec. “Rombit has the necessary know-how and scale to prepare the extensive IT infrastructure of our customers for the future. With BadgeControl, it has complementary solutions for check-in-at-work and access control.” Urbain Schelpe remains in his role as operations manager of Sercotec.
Growing scale-up
The staff of Sercotec will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of the existing and future product portfolio. The trained technicians constitute a valuable addition to the current Rombit team which predominantly consists of engineers and developers. Following this acquisition, the fast-growing company will surpass 50 employees.
